LoftOpera Heads to Bushwick Circus School

LoftOpera, Brooklyn's independent opera company and Gowanus Art & Production alum, is putting on its Summer Sessions, beginning this week. The Friday and Saturday shows will be at The Muse, a sprawling Bushwick warehouse circus school, and will include a lineup of Mahler and Berlioz song cycles, performed by a twenty-five piece orchestra, vocal talent from the Met Opera and LoftOpera regulars. This show has already been anticipated in the New York Times, The New Yorker, Time Out New York, Flavorpill, Brooklyn Magazine and more, so tickets should be purchased in advance.

Founded in 2013, LoftOpera is both a Brooklyn loft party and a startup opera company. Our team produces repertory works in lofts, warehouses, and residences. For our Summer Sessions in August, a thirty-piece orchestra will accompany Rebecca Ringle, Mezzo Soprano, and Joel Herold, Baritone, as they perform fully staged renditions of Berlioz's Les Nuits d'été and Mahler's Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen; and in September an equally awesome cast will perform fully staged selections from Verdi's operas with piano. Opera novices and experts alike will sit on benches and drink Brooklyn Brewery beer. It's a great time!
