The founders behind H&H Weddings and Love Inc. Mag have teamed up with Brooklyn Based‘s popular wedding fair Wedding Crashers to bring Halls of Ivy back to Brooklyn on January 25th at The Green Building!
While Wedding Crashers is helping us throw the event, it’s open to all wedding pros who are eager to learn how to make their business more equality-minded (but if you ARE a Wedding Crashers vendor, check your inbox — you have a special promo code waiting for you!).
In case this is the first time you’ve heard of Halls of Ivy, here’s the scoop: Kate (founder of H&H Weddings) and Brittny, of Love Inc, have joined forces to create a workshop that is dedicated to making every facet of your wedding business LGBTQ-inclusive. Even the most genuinely LGBTQ-friendly wedding pros may not realize that their website, branding and/or client documents are heteronormative. They’ll tackle these topics and more in their in-depth lectures that cover language, client relations and marketing. The interactive presentation will also give you the opportunity to have your questions regarding the gay, lesbian and transgender wedding market answered by industry experts and their team will be conducting one-on-ones to review attendees’ documents/marketing materials to ensure that your brand reflects your eagerness to work with all couples.
A few of us from the Green Building and Purslane Catering attended the last workshop in Red Hook. We loved the intimate atmosphere for safe and honest discussion, and the 1-on-1 session to go over our marketing materials, from our contract to our Pinterest page, was eye opening. We highly, highly recommend this course!
Here are what some of the other Halls of Ivy alumni had to say:
“I liked that it was small so it didn’t feel too overwhelming and made me feel more comfortable to ask questions. It was a great and fun experience and I look forward to seeing where you all take this. ” — Michelle Elaine Weddings
“I thought that starting with the basics, then wording, and lastly marketing was great and kept attention levels. I would absolutely recommend this workshop to companies and states that are new to LGBT weddings and marriage equality. ” — Ashley Chamblin Events
“Halls of Ivy was a wonderful, inclusive experience! No judgement of your past professional tendencies or errors. A safe, inviting place to learn from one another and share experiences and solutions to problems we encounter all too often in our industry. Networking paired with educational information that will benefit your company.” — Roey Mizrahi Events
More info and tickets here. There will be a morning and an evening session, so we hope to see you there!
